Practise Spanish with an AI tutor that explains why
Spanish gets you started quickly, then asks harder questions. Two verbs for "to be", two past tenses and a subjunctive that turns up sooner than you expect. Castilian, Mexican, US Spanish
YaP supports three Spanish dialects. Castilian Spanish uses "vosotros" for the informal plural "you", and in most of Spain the "c" in "cielo" and the "z" in "zapato" are said with a "th" sound. Mexican Spanish uses "ustedes" for every plural "you" and has its own everyday vocabulary. US Spanish is largely Latin American in base, with English influence in its vocabulary and the code-switching that bilingual speakers will recognise.
You can ask the tutor to switch dialect any time. "Háblame como en CDMX" is enough.

What a session looks like
After class. Your teacher covered ser and estar tonight and it half made sense. You open a lesson and ask for more examples. Then you ask why "es aburrido" means "he is boring" but "está aburrido" means "he is bored", and why the party "es en mi casa" when you were told that location takes estar. The tutor explains that ser usually describes what something is like and estar how it is at the moment, and that events take ser for where they happen. It gives you a few more to try and corrects you as you go. The lesson is saved with a date and a description, so you can find it again before next week's class.
What you care about. You follow Spanish football and a friend in Seville sends you voice notes after every match. You ask the tutor to help you keep up. You learn that a golazo is a brilliant goal, that fuera de juego is offside and that empatar is to draw. Then you practise telling your friend what you made of the match. Every new word is saved as a flashcard for review.
