Practise Chinese with an AI tutor that corrects you
Chinese rewards conversation more than any other language YaP supports. The tones and the lack of conjugation make pattern recognition fast, but only if you actually speak. YaP gives you a tutor that does not get tired of being asked to repeat.
You speak or type Chinese. The tutor replies in Chinese. Corrections target tones, word order and measure words - the three places learners most reliably misfire.
Mainland Mandarin, Taiwan Mandarin, Hong Kong Cantonese
YaP supports three variants. Mainland Mandarin uses simplified characters and the pinyin system most courses teach. Taiwan Mandarin uses traditional characters, slightly different vocabulary (網路 vs 网络), and a softer tone profile. Hong Kong Cantonese is a separate language for our purposes, with its own grammar and the six (or nine, depending who you ask) tones.
Pick a variant when you start. The tutor will stay in that variant until you switch.

What a session looks like
You ask the tutor to play a Beijing taxi driver. You tell them where you want to go. You get the measure word wrong on "house". The driver does not stop. At the end of the ride the tutor highlights the measure word and writes a one-line note: "套 for a flat or apartment, not 个."
A flashcard lands in your queue. After two reviews the measure word is automatic.
Who it is for
You are HSK 2 to HSK 5. You can read short passages. You hesitate before speaking. You want to practise small situations - ordering food, asking directions, talking to a colleague's family - without flying to Shanghai.
