Prices include tax - the amount shown at checkout is the final amount you pay. Plus has three prices, each set separately and each including tax: £6.99 / €7.99 / $8.49 a month, or £54.99 / €64.99 / $67.99 a year. These are fixed prices, not conversions of one another, and they do not move with an exchange rate. Stripe decides which of the three applies to you when you check out, and shows you that amount before you pay. Why YaP is different

Which languages does YaP support?
9 languages today: English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean.
And dialects?
17 dialects across the nine languages. Spanish covers Castilian, Mexican and US. Portuguese covers European and Brazilian. Chinese covers Mainland Mandarin, Taiwan Mandarin and Hong Kong Cantonese. The full list is on each language page.
Can I use voice instead of typing?
Yes. Voice input and output are on by default. You can turn either off in Settings. Voice transcription runs on your device on Android and in the browser on the web.
Which browser should I use?
Chrome, on a computer or an Android phone. That is what we build and test against, and voice practice works there with no setup. Safari works too, and on an iPhone or iPad it is the one to use. Firefox ships speech recognition switched off by default and Brave blocks the service behind it, so on those two the microphone will not work - typing does, and the tutor is identical either way. Reading and typing work in every modern browser.
Is there an Android app?
Not on the Play Store yet - it is in testing. Until it lands, open YaP in Chrome on your Android phone; voice practice works there. You can add it to your home screen from the Chrome menu and it will behave much like an app. On an iPhone, use Safari in the normal browser rather than adding it to the home screen - iOS switches voice input off inside home-screen web apps.
What happens to my chat data?
Chat content is sent to a large language model provider (currently OpenAI; Anthropic and Google Gemini are configured alternatives) to generate the tutor reply, and stored encrypted in our EU database (Supabase in Ireland). We do not sell or share your data, and we do not use it to train any model. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown. See the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open Settings and use Delete account - it asks you to type DELETE, then removes your account and your conversations, vocabulary and lessons. If you have ever paid, we keep the invoice record for seven years because tax law requires it; the Privacy Policy sets out exactly what that covers. You can also email team@yapilearn.com from the address you signed up with and we action it within 30 days.
What is the refund policy?
No questions asked within 48 hours of purchase. Between 48 hours and 14 days with minimal use, we refund. After 14 days the subscription ends at the next billing date. Full details on the refund page. Full details on the refund policy page.
